Amenities

On the peninsula and in Glovertown you’ll find: dining (sit down, take out, drive thru, and fine dining) including the best fish-n-chips around at both Chucky’s restaurant in Happy Adventure and Down Home Delights in Eastport! There’s also dairy bars (ice cream!), grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, liquor stores, and convenience stores to serve you with extended summer hours. Everything you need will be within a short drive. Ask our staff! Please note: shops are smaller in rural Newfoundland compared to cities, if you need a specific item or have a dietary requirement consider bringing it with you.

When to visit/what to pack

Newfoundland weather is unpredictable at best! Spring is your best bet for whales and ‘bergs, but July and August is the best time for beaches and sunbathing. That said, our falls are spectacular when the leaves are ‘flaming red’ so bring your boots and hit the trails for incredible hiking! Be sure to pack for inclement weather year round like rain and wind just in case, and know that we’re an island so it’ll be humid which can make a 20C day feel like 25C+. Keep in mind it can still snow even in June (true story!).
